Big Pimpin' the seanp

I just got done listening to seanp live on the air from Texas (A simultaneously polite and obnoxious state that I dearly miss). This was my first time hearing Sean live, as opposed to a studio MP3, and I must say I was impressed with all the poppy gillardesque chord changes (plus Sean tunes all the time just like Doug did when he was Sean's age :P). The closing Mahalia Jackson number was absolutely lovely. If anyone can sell Mahalia to an indie-rawk crowd, it's seanp.

More reasons why I like Sean:
- He does a lot of his stuff totally DIY, not that there's anything wrong with ppl who have significant help but the craftsman in me admires the person who has to make do
- He proves that a good musician doesn't have to be irresponsible, egomaniacal, hard to get along with, or lacking in numerous major life skills such as the ability to pay own rent
- He keeps up a schedule that would kill a horse and still manages to get the product (his record) out the door. Details over at his Cocker Spaniels website.

(No puppies were killed in the making of this promotional post.)
