LJ Norms

I was thinking today how comment handling is one big way I decide if someone is friendly, nice, and/or someone I want to keep on my list or get to know better. I've put a lot of people off my list in the past for being non-interactive - not commenting or not responding to comments. To me, that suggests that we don't have much in common or that the other person is not that interested in LJ or in my journal. I was wondering how everybody else felt about comments...
