kitten

you and me we'll always be together

I finally got around to buying the Rhino comp of the original Josie and the Pussycats recordings. Seeing as how it's been out since 2001, that took me long enuf, but considering that I never even got the original album when it was out despite being a big fan, I'm doing well here.

I read in the booklet that Capitol did a very poor job of promoting the original album. Well no kidding. I don't think me or any of my Partridge Family/ Osmonds/ Josie-lovin' friends even knew they had an album out! (Besides kids have a short attention span, we probably got distracted by the Rock Flowers.) I did have all those little Kelloggs cereal box singles though. Sugar Pops were my favorite cereal and I ate about 9 or 10 boxes to get all the box tops required, but ended up so sick of the stuff I couldn't look at a Sugar Pop for about the next 20 years.

You can totally tell this record was made in Cali in the late 60s. If you peeled the vox off the last track it would sound like late-period Byrds or Deja Vu-era CSNY.

I should have Watched Out For the Road Runner. He ran me right down.

LJ on the weekend is always such a thrill, what with 500 people all posting how hard they partied and how sloshed they got the night before. Feels just like Postal Blowfish during tour weeks.

Please, collectively grow an imagination...take better drugs or something...thanks
