I can't even recognize a plate of pierogies and onions when I see some punk eating them, in Parma yet. Whaddya want? My Irish mom sure didn't cook Polish food when I was growing up (and we never visited Parma either). As an adult I've eaten kielbasa and khrusciki a lot, but rarely pierogies. I was going to say "but never pierogies" but this morning I have a really vague memory of buying a box of them, frozen, when I lived in Columbia and taking them home and steaming them and eating them. Because I was just that friggin' homesick. They were kind of ickily bland because I didn't know you were supposed to put stuff like onions.
