so like i mentioned before, my offiss has this nifty little balcony. i haven't been out there much because (a) it's been cold out and (b) I have a slight fear of locking myself out and having to run around the balcony to my neighbors' offisses and tap on their windows. but the other morning, having been there all nite, I decided to chock the door open and step out and enjoy the cool rainy morning air. i stepped out just in time to see a crew team sculling by on the potomac as if on cue. now I knew that there were sculls and crew teams down there cuz G-town likes to put pictures of scullers on calendars (to show it's as fly as Harvard, no doubt) and cuz i pass the Georgetown boathouse every once in a while. but this is the first time I ever saw one in action, i suspect because they do most of their rowing at the jaw-crack of dawn when I am usually not even up let alone looking at the river, and to the extent they ever did it in the evening I was prolly getting drunk at the Tombs at that time.
so when i finally Saw a Scull, my first reaction was: hey, a scull is actually going by in the early morning rain, just like in the movies and on TV, that's kinda picturesque and neat
followed immediately by: OH NO, I'VE BECOME THE KIND OF PERSON WHO WATCHES SCULLS. WAUUUUGH!
