I don't know why I had not run across this shiny lil' gem before, probably because I don't read Volokh, but hey, better late than never. Yes, Virginia, it is a real case:

Schwing GmbH v. Putzmeister Aktiengesellschaft, 305 F.3d 1318 (Fed. Cir. 2002).

As at least one blog has noted, this patent dispute aptly involved "pumping equipment that is capable of moving large volumes of heavy, viscous material" and sealing devices known as the "Bastardring I" and "Bastardring II". I am right now picturing Wayne and Garth, Esq. as the lawyers.
